WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

installation of a 1.5 MVA substation, the installation of mechanical process pipelines and piping systems

The Mtwara port came into existence during the British Colonial period, and it is located in the southern part of Tanzania in the city of Mtwara.

A poor transport infrastructure made the Mtwara port underutilized for many years, but during 2010 and 2011, an increased interest in oil, gas, and natural resources caused operations to surge. Also, being part of the Mtwara Development Corridor, the Mtwara port has benefited from significant upgrades.

Limited infrastructure, isolation and underdevelopment in the region of Mtwara have created numerous problems for those arriving to explore for oil and gas. Since 2011, we have been working to support infrastructure improvement for both government partners and industry giants, and in 2012, was contracted to upgrade the electrical and mechanical installations in the port of Mtwara. This project was intended to support the commissioning of a second mud plant as well as a new 33kV distribution system and improve working operations for the multinationals working there.

Key deliverables included the installation of a 1.5 MVA substation, the installation of mechanical process pipelines and piping systems (for cement, fuels and lubricants etc.), tank erection, fire-fighting reticulation (including new pump sets and boosted cold water), as well as perimeter fencing and flood lighting Now functioning at international standards, the port provides great benefit to the Tanzanian economy, being a gateway to southern Tanzania.
