As a Safety Officer, you’ll be the beam that cuts through uncertainty, leading toolbox talks, enforcing HSE protocols, and ensuring everyone returns home safely. Your vigilance will shine across every project phase, keeping our team, partners, and operations on the safest possible path. Position based at Mnazi Bay, Mtwara, Tanzania.
1. Operational Management
-
Act as liaison between the Project team and internal departments.

Conduct toolbox talks and enforce Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

Investigate incidents/accidents.
-
Champion a safe system of work.
-
Attend all client-scheduled safety meetings.
2. Planning
-
Risk management and mitigation.
-
Provide guidance on safety procedures at project startup.
-
Monitor compliance with engineering and safety standards.
-
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure alignment with OSHA laws of Tanzania.
3. People and Relationship Management
-
Oversee and mentor teams on HSE.

Train operations and subcontractor teams.

Build collaborative relationships with site personnel.
4. Reporting & Analysis
-
Prepare daily and weekly HSE status reports.
5. Budget Management
-
Monitor and record usage of disposable PPE.
6. HSEQ
-
Lead by example in HSE behavior.

Stay aware of HSE performance and accident prevention initiatives.
7. Compliance

Adhere to company policies and all applicable laws.
8. Additional Duties

Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education/Qualification:
Certificate in Health and Safety from a recognized institution or equivalent, with additional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems. -
Work Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of construction site experience. -
IT Skills:
Proficient in MS Word and Excel. SAP knowledge is an added advantage. -
Languages:
Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.
