If you're skilled at using nature's energy to reach new heights, we want you on our team as a Renewable Energy Project Manager (REPM). Just like a kite needs a steady hand to navigate different winds, your expertise will be key in managing and driving our renewable energy projects. You'll guide these projects through all conditions, ensuring they stay on track and achieve great success.

The REPM is responsible for overseeing and managing the development, tendering, commercial discussions, and construction of renewable energy projects for CSI Energy Group. This role involves ensuring the successful delivery of renewable energy infrastructures, such as solar PV power plants and solar + battery hybrid power plants, from conception to completion. The REPM will support the business development team in tendering processes, project development and commercial negotiations, also ensuring project objectives are met in terms of quality, safety, cost, and schedule.

 

This role of REPM is essential in helping CSI Energy Group fulfil its purpose of enabling a just energy transition across Africa.

Key responsibilities

Tendering and Commercial Support:

 

  • Assist the commercial teams in the preparation and submission of bids for new renewable energy projects.
  • Participate in site visits, commercial discussions and negotiations with clients and partners.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and expectations.

 

Project Development Support:

 

  • Assist the Project Director in the development of new renewable energy projects, from data collection on site, to technical calculations and feasibility studies, permitting, drafting of agreements etc.
  • Assist the Project Director in follow up and negotiations with clients and partners.

 

Project Management:

 

  • Lead and manage renewable energy projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage project resources effectively.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among project team members and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

 

Technical Oversight:

 

  • Provide technical guidance and support for the design, engineering, and construction of renewable energy infrastructures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure high standards of project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills and experience in the renewable energy sector
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Strong data-driven decision-making abilities around cost management and resource (capital, talent, time) distribution
  • Good spoken and written English, and ability to deliver visual and verbal presentations in English.
  • Good spoken and written French, and ability to deliver visual and verbal presentations in French would be an advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of the business culture and regulatory environment in various countries of Africa
  • High attention to detail and quality orientation
