Description

The Planning Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining proactive planning policies and procedures to support efficient project execution at CSI Energy Group. This role is focused on enhancing risk awareness and mitigation throughout all project phases by leveraging data-driven scheduling and fact-based decision-making. The Planning Engineer ensures the production of high-quality, accurate planning documents and reports, which serve as critical tools for project oversight, budget management, and strategic planning. This position collaborates closely with project teams to monitor progress, manage delays, and establish corrective actions, supporting the achievement of project goals and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities
  1. Operational Management

    • Implementation and management of progress measurement systems and reporting
    • Report on project progress as required
    • Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for projects in collaboration with Project Management
    • Prepare and maintain project-specific WBS, including baseline management and progress updates
    • Prepare project forecasts/lookahead schedules based on construction knowledge
    • Analyze delays in site works and prepare mitigation plans
    • Review overall project status with Project Management and recommend corrective actions
    • Review sub-contractors’ interim payment applications
    • Support development of project budgets and financial reports
    • Contribute to accurate schedule and budget documentation for proposals and tenders
    • Develop and maintain a procurement schedule aligned with project schedules in collaboration with the Procurement team

  2. Planning

    • Promote a culture of strategic and proactive planning throughout the project

  3. People and Relationship Management

    • Promote a one-family culture and represent the business vision, mission, and values
    • Ensure integrity and commitment to clients, staff, and stakeholders

  4. Reporting & Analysis

    • Establish and agree on the level and frequency of reporting required from the project

  5. Budget Management

    • Support project management with budget setup, cost control, and reporting

  6. HSEQ

    • Align role with company HSEQ standards (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2018, ISO 9001:2015)
    • Advocate for health, safety, environment, and quality across the business

  7. Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures, and relevant laws and regulations

  8. Other Duties

    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager
Qualifications
  • Education/Qualification: University degree in Engineering
  • Work experience: Experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring in construction (or related industry) project management
  • Computer skills: Skills in Primavera and Microsoft Project; competency in Microsoft Office Tools and aptitude for ICT applications
  • Language: Fluent in written and spoken English
